Basic Carbine Concepts
This carbine class is geared for those who wish to further understand the AR15 weapon platform. Prior formal instruction is not necessary to attend this class. Safety is paramount. Instructions on general firearms safety as well as range safety will be covered at the beginning of class. Students will receive training on basic AR15 functions, proper grip & shooting position, zeroing iron sights & optics, sight alignment & sight picture, trigger control, trigger reset and improving accuracy. Students will learn the proper maintenance, cleaning and proper storage of their AR15.

Advanced Tactical Carbine
After a safety briefing and a quick optic/sights zero check, students will put their carbine to work. This is a very fast-paced, dynamic, quick shooting class so the round count will be high. Students will learn to shoot on the move, search/clear urban dwellings, engage multiple threats, transition to secondary weapons, and shoot from a vehicle. Carbine calibers from .22 – 7.62 are welcome as well as suppressors. This is an advanced course with a faster pace.

Ladies Handgun
Many women have not been exposed to firearms and thus they feel anxious, nervous, or doubt their ability to handle a firearm. This 2.5 hour class is designed to help women gain confidence around firearms and give them the ability to protect themselves and their family. The curriculum includes basic firearms safety, fundamentals of shooting and improving accuracy. Information regarding handgun selection, basic maintenance and safe/proper storage will also be covered. The instructor will provide a wide selection of handguns in various calibers ranging from revolvers to semi-automatics. Personal firearms are not necessary but are welcome.

RANGE QUALIFICATION
Students must score a 175(70%) of a possible 250 in order to pass this portion of the class. 50 rounds will be fired from a handgun (revolver or semi-auto). The state no longer requires a distinction between the two types. The use of laser sights or optics (scopes) are not permitted for qualification. The target is the very common B-27 which is available at most gun shops are sporting goods stores. Most students that are nervous about the shooting qualification find it helpful to practice shooting this target before the class.
The strings of fire are as follow:
3 yards, 20 rounds
1 shot in 2 seconds, 5 times
2 shots in 3 seconds, 5 times
5 shots in 10 seconds, 1 time
7 yards, 20 rounds
5 shots in 10 seconds, 1 time
2 shots in 4 seconds, 1 time

CHL Checklist
The process can be tedious and confusing so some students choose to have steps 1 & 2 done prior to class. Once the student has obtained the CHL certificate from Trinity Tactical Training, they can submit their paperwork to the Texas DPS.
1. Submit an online application: You must be at least 21 years of age or at least 18 years of age if currently serving in or honorably discharged from the military.

2. Schedule appointment for fingerprint scanning. Under State law, DPS must conduct a fingerprint based state and FBI Criminal History background check as part of the application process for both original and renewal applicants. Morphotrust is the only company recognized by the Texas Department of Public Safety for fingerprinting. You MUST use this company: Texas DPS Fingerprint Info and locations.
3. Attend state mandated CHL class.

Lowlight Environment
Almost 80% of officer involved shootings happen at night. Can the statistics really be that much different for civilians? This entire class will operate in lowlight conditions and progress into complete darkness. Students will learn proper techniques for deploying a flashlight in conjunction with a handgun as well as proper use of weapon-mounted lights. Students will be instructed on identifying a threat in lowlight condition, clearing a house, shooting on the move and many other adrenaline pumping drills. At the conclusion of this class, students will be able to more confidently use their handgun when it's most likely to be needed – at night. Advanced Tactical Handgun is recommended as a prerequisite but not necessary.

Youth Firearms
This youth class will focus on Firearm Safety Rules. The curriculum will introduce firearm education in a safe and fun environment as well as address the “finding a gun” scenario. Students will also handle firearms & ammunition and learn the basics of accuracy. All firearms and ammunition will be provided by the instructor and is included in the tuition. The class will last 2.5 hours and will include classroom and range time. Children from eight years (depending of maturity level) and older are welcome.
